Description
At 7402 feet, this is the highest point in Jamaica (2256m). It is reported that from the top of Blue Mountain Peak, on a clear day, one can see Cuba. The coffee in this region is likewise well-known. Visit a Jamaican coffee estate to end the day with a traditional Jamaican meal and a chance to sample Blue Mountain coffee.
The Blue and John Crow Mountains, a World Heritage Site, are where the Blue Mountain is located. Jacob's Ladder, the trail's first segment, is a meandering, steep slope that leads directly up the side of Blue Mountain. The distance from here to the peak is 5.8 miles (9.2km). You'll be in awe of the breathtaking scenery along the journey; keep an eye out for bird species including the doctor bird, the national bird of Jamaica, the crested quail dove, and chestnut-bellied cuckoo.
