Martha Brae River Rafting
Imagine relaxing for about an hour on a 30-foot bamboo raft as it glides gently through a 3-mile length of river, surrounded by beautiful ripples and peaceful sounds. Exotic bird calls and overhead drilling by woodpeckers are likely the only sounds that will disrupt your Martha Brae River Rafting adventure.
This magnificent aquatic experience, expertly supervised by a qualified raft captain, is excellent whether you're searching for a unique romantic expedition or just a quiet family vacation. Raft commanders usually concentrate on pressing their wooden oars against the riverbed below, providing a peaceful environment.
Falmouth History Tour
Thomas Reid founded Falmouth, the capital of Trelawny, in 1769. It is located 18 miles east of Montego Bay on the island of Jamaica.
For almost forty years, when Jamaica was the world's largest sugar producer, Falmouth served as both a market and a fort. Falmouth, Cornwall, England, was the birthplace of Sir William Trelawny, the Governor of Trelawny, who was instrumental in its establishment. Even before New York City, the village had piped water!
Falmouth was one of Jamaica's busiest ports in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century. Masons, carpenters, bar proprietors, seamen, and others lived there! It was a prosperous town in a prosperous parish with a diverse racial population. Nearly a hundred sugar and rum plantations were actively producing sugar and rum for export to the United Kingdom. During this time, Jamaica became the world's largest sugar producer.
